It’s funny Matt brings up Bioshock Infinite, because that’s Mr.Delphina’s frustrating “Limitless” example of an ending that betrayed its beginning. Seemed like the kind of game that should have multiple endings instead of one (depressing) eventuality.

On the subject of Stephenie Meyer being a one-trick pony, have you seen/read The Host? It wasn’t too bad, and it really cured a lot of my prejudices against her as a storyteller. (Though I heard it wasn’t very well received.)

I have not read The Host, but I find it fascinating that it was poorly received. I wonder if it suffered from expectations colored by her previous work?
